Yule, Christmas & HallowistmasTree Blessing.

Whatever you may call your ritual "tree," this is a fun thing to do while you decorate it, whether it be live, artificial, big or small blessing your tree is a wonderful way to welcome the winter season!

You may choose tree ornaments that represent earth, water, air and fire and hang them around he tree according to their elemental position in your home. You will also want to have some yule incense or sage and a spiritual mist spray for blessing. The "fire" will come in when you light your tree. The tree itself is a symbol of earth.

Once you have everything out you may put your tree together or place it in it's stand and decorate according to your usual ritual. You can save your element ornaments to put on last as you begin your blessing.

Beginning in the North:

"By the powers of earth, I bless this tree. This tree shall remain a sacred symbol of life, stable and strong in our home and hearts through this winter season. (Place your "earth element ornament" on your tree).

By the powers of air, I bless this tree. The cool winter winds blow away the regrets and woes of the old year and bring new energy in our homes and our hearts. (Light your incense or smudge the tree, then place your "air element ornament" on your tree).

By the powers of fire, I bless this tree. The days are shorter and the nights are longer, yet the warmth of the yule fire reminds us the sun will slowly return bringing with it new life in our homes and in our hearts. (Light the tree, then place your "fire element ornament" on your tree).

By the powers of water, I bless this tree. Water fuels life, even during the winter ice we are reminded of it's strength and magic and cleansing flow by which we live in our home and in our hearts. (Spritz the tree with spiritual mist and place your "water element ornament" on your tree).

Fully circle the tree once and say:
I cast this blessing on our tree,
So love and peace will come to thee
And honor you, my friend the tree
And bring you thanks now, blessed be!

Merry Witchmas!

It's Hallowistmas Time!

What is Hallowistmas?

Well it is a very important holiday ritual that my cousins and I begun several years ago. If you have family like I do, scattered all over the place, sometimes you smush holidays or birthdays into the same day whenever you have a chance to get together.

This is how it all began, an excuse to celebrate Halloween and Christmas over Thanksgiving weekend. (Yes, I do celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas as it was the tradition I was raised in and makes me all warm and fuzzy inside...and we witches love ritual celebrations whenever we can get them ;)

~Feel free to borrow this tradition if you too find yourself home for turkey but not for Egg Nog! ~

I am from the midwest and as a typical midwesterner, I love fall. It kicks off one of the most fun filled times of the year. Because
I like to combine Halloween and Christmas I put my Christmas tree up on Halloween and decorate it with tiny skulls and bat lights and other such travesties. My cousins and I also like to exchange gifts that would be more fitting of a Halloween present than your typical Christmas gift.

I do have a point to my story.

I share this with you because as this season has come upon us my mind is crazed with wonderful Hallowistmas items to create for the holiday gifting season. So don't be surprised if some kitschy-gothy-witchy-halloweeny stuff shows up on Esty for Christmas/Yule/Winter Solstice/Saturnalia! (Got 'em all).

It's the season of giving, may you give with joy in your heart and warmth in your soul. And may all of your holiday traditions be filled with peace and love.

Merry Witchmas!
